About the Institute

Dua Institute of Nursing (DIN) was established in May 2010 and is located on Main Jamshoro Road, Qasimabad, Hyderabad, near the Computerized Driving License Office. As a private-sector institution, DIN aims to provide a comprehensive platform for advanced nursing education and research, with a strong focus on academic excellence. The Institute serves students from across the province of Sindh as well as from all over Pakistan, and admission to all DIN programs is strictly based on merit. Dua Institute of Nursing was established through the dedicated efforts of visionary leadership and the collaborative support of the DIN family. The Institute is academically affiliated with Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences (LUMHS), Jamshoro, and Liaquat University Hospital, Hyderabad, for degree programs. It is also affiliated with the Sindh Nurses Examination Board (SNEB), Karachi, for diploma programs. Furthermore, DIN is fully recognized by the Pakistan Nursing & Midwifery Council (PNMC), Islamabad, ensuring compliance with national nursing education standards.

DIN commenced its Post Basic Diploma Program in 2010 and simultaneously inducted its first batch of BSc Nursing (Post RN) students in March 2014 under the affiliation of LUMHS, Jamshoro. The Institute is recognized by the Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC) and affiliated with the Sindh Nurses Examination Board, Karachi, for its Post Basic Diploma programs. DIN employs diverse and modern teaching and learning methodologies through a rigorous training process, supported by both full-time and visiting faculty, for foundation, nursing, compulsory, and general courses in accordance with PNC Rules 2009, 2019, and 2023.

Following the phase-out of the General Nursing Diploma program, and in response to the increasing provincial, national, and global shortage of nurses, DIN introduced the BS Nursing (Generic) four-year degree program. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the world requires an additional six million nurses to achieve global health targets. Pakistan faces similar shortages in nursing education and clinical healthcare systems, highlighting the critical need for expanding quality nursing institutions to strengthen healthcare outcomes.

In response to public demand and the strong academic performance of its existing nursing programs, the management of DIN proudly launched the BS Nursing (Generic) four-year degree program in 2022, which is duly recognized by the Pakistan Nursing Council. DIN has a purpose-built campus equipped with all essential academic and clinical facilities. The Institute is supported by a team of experienced, trained, and highly qualified faculty committed to educating and mentoring future nursing professionals.

DIN maintains strong academic and clinical affiliations with LUMHS, Jamshoro, and Liaquat University Hospital, Hyderabad, providing students with hands-on clinical training through supervised practice and direct assessment. In addition to academic facilities, DIN also provides hostel and transport services to support students throughout their educational journey.
